The composition of WPC and MPC boards is more or less the same.
1. First Layer
They both are made with Virgin polymer, the percentage of which is 70%. Both the products are a sister product of PVC.
2. Second Layer
The second layer is the additive layer, the percentage of which is 15%. There are around 6-7 elements that includes
a. Foaming Agent - It is the element that foams the entire material
b. Processing Aide - This helps the material to get processed while it is undergoing an extrusion process.
c. Whitening Agents, Brightening Agent and UV Pigment - This plays an important role as the white color, which comes on the top and the bottom of board
d. Lubricants - The internal and external lubricants too play an important role in terms of processing parameters.
These are the four major elements
You must be thinking if everything is the same then how are the products different?
II. Difference
The 15% layer which forms the topmost layer of the boards is the layer that differentiates both the products.
This 15% in WPC is a layer of “Wood Powder.”
Do remember that we don't cut trees to produce this powder, rather we procure this wood powder from Sawmill's and then we further refine them and add it to our product.
In the case of MPC what we add in this 15% layer is Mineral fibers like calcium carbonate and many more. They both are added to add dimensional stability to the product.
And only this 15% is the layer that differentiates the product.
Rest in terms of properties and technicalities, these products remain on the same line.
1. Color
It's just that WPC is beige in color because it has wood powder, and MPC, on the other hand, is white in color. So this is the basic difference between both the product.
So now the question comes in our mind as to what is the difference between WPC And MPC? Or can we extrude this in different colors or not?
2. Applications
Well, definitely yes we can extrude both WPC/MPC in different colors. For Exteriors, we recommend MPC because its light reflective index value stays apt for exteriors as white color is a UV friendly color. Hence, it reflects those rays rather than absorbing them. Till today we have supplied and covered 2500000 square feet area via our Grills, out of this 98% of the grills were made in MPC i.e were white in color. This is why MPC is preferred over WPC.
Also, white color easily matches with all different sorts of colors. However, if anyone of you wants WPC Grills specifically, then to we provide that as well.
3. Thickness And Standard Grills.
Well, because we extrude grills in every thickness, be it is 6m,12mm, 17mm or 18mm.
Moreover, we can extrude grills in any thickness because we have our own indigenous manufacturing plant, provided you fulfill our minimum order requirement. Coming to dimensions we can carry out various dimensions on it, i.e we can make grills of any width and length depending on the total size of the shafts.
The installation process remains the same for both the products. Also, any design can be done over WPC/MPC Grills.
