Problem And Solution

Problem And Solution

Well, have you ever have invested your hard-earned money in Plywood to make furniture and had it been the case wherein it has been affected badly by termite and water. hence, increasing the load of work on your head? This is the right blog for you as we understand your pain. Here we have provided a solution for you.

We are covering the difference between Plywood and WPC/MPC Board, if you are making your house or have had already made it and are looking to renovate it then this is really helpful to you.

1. Waterproof

Plywoods are neither waterproof nor are they water resistant. Any plywood made by any company is not at any point a waterproof product. Rather when these boards come in contact with water, they start swelling. The same is not the case with WPC boards, rather it has an absorption rate of 1.2% which is very less. So once you have used WPC/MPC board in Kitchen, Bathroom vanities, Wardrobes etc. all you have to do is fit and forget it.

Thereby, It offers a great "Return On Investment."

2. Termite Proof

Average homeowners while buying plywood often underestimates the threat of termites and borer. Well, certainly you can’t ignore the fact that on an average a female termite can produce 30,000 eggs per day. So, if we look in a year this becomes 1,09,50,000 eggs. Moreover, they keep having the wood for the entire day as it’s their only food. And no plywood is termite resistant at all, we all know that. With WPC this problem gets automatically solved.

3. Natural Product

it has a huge moisture level comparatively to PVC sister products i.e WPC/MPC. Hence, people using plywood soon start experiencing problems related to expansion and contraction.

4. Environment-Friendly

Everyone wants his/her product to be environment-friendly. Quite afraid to say that, because trees are cut to produce timber, hence it’s a threat to the green cover and is not at all a green product. However, WPC/MPC is a full fledged green product.

5. Surface Treatment

Since there is no scope of timber without painting as it needs to be painted in order to obtain a good look. Hence, this takes a lot of time, money and on various occasions, the project gets delayed because of this. Whereas in WPC you can use, oil based paints, Duco paints, lamination or can stick veneer to it, PUR Lamination, get a wooden grain to feel on WPC. However, if you don't have to perform a surface treatment on WPC then you can use it as it is (i.e the raw product).

6. Edge Banding

When you are making carcasses for kitchen, wardrobes etc. then there is a need for doing edge bending on all the four sides in plywood but in case of WPC it is not required. If you perform edge banding on the front shutter in WPC/MPC that will do the work.

7. Time

We all agree that, time today is the most precious resource. If you and your carpenter both want to save their time then that would also mean that you are saving money isn't it? Incase of WPC you don't have to paint, laminate, let the product dry etc. when you carry out lamination on it unlike plywood.

8. Certifications

Well, our products that is WPC/MPC has IGBC and GRIHA certifications. These give more Field Area Ratio (FAR's) to the buildings which are being built by builders who are IGBC and GRIHA rated.

9. Cost.

Well, should we calculate our cost? Let us understand this via an example, When we use plywood then we will look for the cost of the Plywood, the Surface Treatment carried on it be it - Laminate, Veneer, PU Paint etc, Adhesive, carpenter's extra cost because these are the points that are not applicable in case of WPC. So if you compare the price now WPC would seem much cheaper provided you will have no problems in the future related to termite, water, borer, UV rays, etc.
