1. Composition
Particle Boards are made by the compression of wooden particles whereas WPC and MPC Boards are polymer-based products and are made via the extrusion process.
2. Usages
Particle Boards are majorly used for making office furniture since it is very cheap as compared to WPC/ MPC Boards. However, if a product is much cheaper than its substitute, then you can understand why is it so?
Here we will discuss which product will be used in what application.
1. Waterproof
Particle Boards are neither waterproof nor are they water-resistant. Any particleboard made by any company is not at any point a waterproof product. Rather when these boards come in contact with water, they start swelling. The same is not the case with WPC boards.
3. Termite resistant
Since particleboard is a wood-based product hence it is not a termite resistant product. However, WPC, on the other hand, is a Polymer product and hence is a 100% termite resistant.
4. Dampness
Particleboards are not at all dampness proof.
5. Screwability
Particleboards are made by compressing wood particles hence it has a very low screw holding capacity. If you have had already made stationery office furniture using particle boards, then it's fine but if you are looking to make portable office furniture then we recommend you to use HDF/MDF for making it. We understand you want to save your cost but at this stage, you should consider a long term product rather than a short term product the probability of the latter seems more when you tend to use particleboard.
