How WPC Frames Are Much Better Than FRP Frames

How WPC Frames Are Much Better Than FRP Frames

FRP stands for Fibre Reinforced Composite and WPC stands for Wood Polymer Composite.

Any FRP door frame is made on standard moulds and because of this more lead time is required for getting the final product. All FRP manufacturers go through this challenge and because of which, can make only upto 10 to 20 frames in a day whereas in case of WPC, making 300-400 frames daily is not at all a challenge. However, the more of the major problems associated with it are listed below.

1. Toxic Chemicals

Toxic chemicals are used in the manufacturing of FRP, which results in VOC emissions from the product. Even after usage and during manufacturing it releases hazardous VOC emissions which is very hazardous.

2. Money

In today's time, we all know how important of factor money is and if the cost is not in the budget, then we don’t use the products. And in this scenario, If a better quality product is green, nontoxic, waterproof, termite proof and offers a lifetime guarantee and warranty and above all, if it’s cheaper and is available then why would anyone like using the costly FRP frames?

3. Wooden Grain Feel

FRP Frames cannot have wooden grains, rather it only has a solid color, also, you can expect the product to come pre-painted.

Hence, it feels quite outdated whereas you can have a feel of wood grain in WPC. Yes, it can be done artificially. And you can either use them without any sort of painting or you can opt to choose a color during the extrusion process like ral coat, Pantone etc. which diminishes the cost of extra painting.

4. Composition & Lead Time

Because FRP uses specifically customized moulds, it usually requires extra time to get delivered.

You can understand if a builder has to complete 2000 Flats within 2 years and if the delivery of the project is delayed then, ultimately interest cost of the project and customer satisfaction gets hampered that's why this is a very major point.

Today FRP manufacturers cannot get IGBC, GRIHA certifications, just because they don’t use green chemicals.

WPC Products checklists all the above problems as it doesn’t contain any hazardous chemicals. Moreover, they’re termite proof, moisture proof and have IGBC, GRIHA Certifications. So, WPC is a green product vis-a-vis if we compare it to FRP.

Now the million-dollar question strikes our mind, which is, If any builder or a government institute is using FRP door frames, then why are they using it?

Well, Because coastal areas like Southern and Western part needs a product which is waterproof, termite proof and conventionally, when WPC frames weren't available they were left with the only choice of using FRP Frames. But, today every builder understands and wants a product which is better and superior to FRP, like they want a product which is waterproof, termite proof, is green, fire retardant and at the same time reduces their lead time allowing them to get not only 10-20 but 200-500 frames daily. Only WPC fulfills these needs of builders. This is the major point that guarantees a return on investments on its own and that's why every builders and institution should choose WPC over FRP.
